The 2026 Canby Independence Day Celebration takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in downtown Canby, Oregon (97013). The main hub is Wait Park, with activities spreading across the surrounding blocks on N Grant Street, NW 1st Avenue, NW 2nd Avenue, NW 3rd Avenue, NW 4th Avenue, and N Holly Street.

What Time Does It Start? Full 2026 Schedule

7:30–10am — Pancake Breakfast at Knight Elementary School Start the day right. This is a fundraiser breakfast that benefits the Canby Historical Society. Worth setting your alarm. 

9:30am–3pm — Street Fair Opens Food and beverage booths surround Wait Park along N Grant and NW 4th Avenue. Arts and crafts vendors set up in the same area. This runs the full duration of the daytime event. 

10–11am — Downtown Parade on NW 1st Avenue The parade kicks off at 10am and winds through downtown. Expect floats, tractors, horses, vintage cars, fire trucks, police vehicles, bikes, dignitaries, and more. Parade awards are announced in the Wait Park Gazebo at noon. 

10am–1pm — Classic Car Show on N Grant Street and NW 5th Avenue Hundreds of classic and vintage vehicles line the streets. Car show registration is on NW 5th Avenue between Grant and Holly. Car show award winners are announced at 1pm in the Gazebo. 

11am — Official Kick-Off Ceremony at Wait Park The American Legion leads the flag salute. The Women's Auxiliary performs the nationwide bell ringing and reads the Constitution. The Grand Marshal is announced. 

11am–3pm — Beer Garden on NW 2nd Avenue Located between Grant and Holly Streets, the beer garden features local wines and brews, plus live music. 

11am–2pm — Canby Fire Department Obstacle Course Kids can take on the fire department obstacle course on N Grant between NW 2nd and NW 3rd Avenues. They get to spray fire hoses and learn the basics of firefighting. Free.

11am–3pm — Arcade Truck on N Holly The arcade truck is parked between NW 3rd and 4th Avenues for teens and tweens who want a break from the sun. 

11:30am–4pm — Gazebo Entertainment at Wait Park Live music, dance performances, and more throughout the afternoon. 

12–3pm — Kids Crafts Zone on NW 3rd Avenue Free children's activities, games, crafts, and a bounce house on NW 3rd Avenue between Grant and Holly Streets.

What's at the Canby Street Fair? 

The street fair anchors the day. It wraps around Wait Park and runs from 9:30am to 3pm, featuring local and regional food vendors, beverages, arts and crafts makers, and nonprofit organizations from the community. It's free to walk through and browse. 

The entertainment stage in the Wait Park Gazebo runs from 11:30am to 4pm with live music and performances. If you're looking for a central spot to set up and enjoy the afternoon, the park is it.

• Arrive early for the pancake breakfast. It runs 7:30–10am at Knight Elementary and it fills up. It's a fundraiser for the Canby Historical Society, so your breakfast dollar goes somewhere good. 
• Stake your parade spot by 9:30. NW 1st Avenue is the parade route this year. Get there before the street fair opens if you want a good vantage point. 
• Bring cash for the street fair vendors. Not all small vendors take cards.
• Plan ahead for fireworks parking. Trost Elementary fills up. Walking from downtown or a nearby neighborhood is often faster than driving at dusk.
